February in a Blur (of Pictures)

Well, by the dates you can see not a whole lot of horse excitement happened in February. I tootled around the back yard when weather permitted, and just hung out with the horses and did chores when it did not. I took Marie out for one ride down the road, much needed for both of us, and haven't left the farm since. But, I did snap a bunch of photos because that's something I can enjoy in any weather. So, here we go!

Here Be is getting her yearly mane trim and banding. Yes, I butchered the mane again. One of these days I will learn I am no good at this. Be is giving me a raspberry for the hack job.

The Be-aver out and about on one of the freezing, yet sunny days

Banding over the mane. Perhaps in a couple months it will look okay.

Be and I post ride in the back yard. She was a fantastic girl :) If we're lucky, we're getting a ride a week in.

Be's forehad whirl and star. I spent some time learning the macro feature of my camera. I really like the results!

Be's eye

Be's eye showing my reflection in it. Love her white eyelash.

Her little white ankles in the snow

Snow melted into droplets on her nose

Awwww

One of her pretty, striped front hooves

Be at the barn door. You can see me behind the dutch bottom half, and her thoroughbred buddy standing off in the distance

And that, friends, is pretty much all I did in February!

A tip for cutting manes: take a section the size of one you might pull. Tease it back like you are going to pull it but instead, twist the section and cut.
